Titles don’t mean the same thing from one company to the next. A Senior Manager in one company might have the scope and stakeholder complexity of a VP elsewhere, for instance.

You’ll get a well-meaning facilitator recycling the same high-level, generic leadership advice you’ve heard 100 times on Linkedin. They’ll steer clear of workplace politics (too loaded) and definitely won’t help you protect yourself from unreasonable priorities or get paid more, because neither is in the company’s best interest.

2. A short-term coaching program taught by an expert

Most programs run 6 to 12 weeks and follow a stereotypical format: the coach or author lectures at you for an hour every week.

They require testing, getting feedback, overcoming resistance, and adjusting. You also need someone in your corner as things evolve over time, like when a new strategy is announced and suddenly your entire role shifts.

Good question. A few things that should put your mind at ease:

  • First, you never have to share anything proprietary or identifying. You can generalize details, change names, swap out specifics. We don’t need to know those to give you powerful coaching. What matters is the communication challenge, not the confidential details behind it.
  • Second, everyone in the program signs an agreement not to share anything from the calls outside the community. Digital notetakers from outside the program are not permitted. This is a private, professional space and we take that seriously.
  • Calls are recorded and those recordings live in our private program library, accessible only to current and future LFW clients. They’re never public and never shared outside the program.
Plus, LFW gives you a protected space that is loyal to YOUR goals and exists outside your company walls. Company-sponsored programs won’t help you push back on unreasonable priorities, navigate politics, or advocate for the comp and scope you deserve. It’s against their interests. But in LFW you can be candid and we will help you rise above the stickiest dynamics with your boss, your peers, etc., that you can’t get expert support with anywhere else.

The cohort is also intentionally cross-industry, so it’s rare you’ll encounter someone from your immediate circle in the room. They’re navigating similar dynamics but in entirely different contexts, which gives you a fresh perspective instead of the echo chamber of your own field.

And if the idea of speaking up in a group setting feels uncomfortable…that’s really common, especially at the beginning!
