To show you what I'm talking about...
Let me tell you the story of my client, Marissa.
No matter what Marissa did, it was never enough.
She worked in a big media company where she was not only a Vice President, but she also took on extracurriculars like mentoring junior employees. Outside of work she was constantly busy learning new languages, karate…and doing so much more.
Marissa had a TON of ambition. But she set the bar sky-high for achievement. And as soon as she moved towards her goal, she’d set the bar even higher.
Marissa constantly felt like she was falling behind or that she needed to be accomplishing more. Any free time had to be productive.
As you can imagine, it was stressful and exhausting for her.
So we worked together to help Marissa stop “goal collecting” and focus on what meaningful success looked like to her — not what she thought she was supposed to do and achieve. We created a habit of valuing small wins to gain momentum towards larger goals.
Now, Marissa is free from the self-imposed pressure of being perfect. Her work feels easier, and she feels at peace and relief on a daily basis.
